Job summary
  A well-established Medical Supply company specializing in enteral and respiratory equipment/supplies for both pediatric and adult patients has an opening for a Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapist oversees the respiratory needs of our patient population as well as training and education on the proper use of equipment and supplies. Additionally, home assessments, patient follow-up, and equipment troubleshooting are key to this position. To qualify, you must live within 45 minutes of Richardson, TX,
Essential job responsibilities
  Provides instruction to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of the equipment and/or respiratory care procedures.
Ensures patients and/or caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment.
Responsible for routine patient follow-up contacts based on individual needs.
Initiates, schedules, and completes follow-up phone calls, assessments, and home visits.
Assists other respiratory therapy personnel with the uses and instruction of more complex equipment.
Responsive to after-hours emergencies and delivering equipment and supplies during on-call.
Provides and operates various types of respiratory care equipment including but not limited to home ventilators, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, and CPAP/BiPAP.
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating conditions.
Maintains patient records relating to pertinent information, care plans, physician prescriptions, and follow-up documentation.
Acts as liaison between the patient, and family members.
Participates in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care.
Education
  Graduate of an accredited respiratory program. Must have an RT license in Texas.
Experience
  Must have basic Respiratory Therapist knowledge. Heavy ventilator exp a plus.
State license requirement
